Evelyne Siegrist-HuangArtist Evelyne Siegrist-Huang was born in 1958 in Keelung, Taiwan. She studied graphic design for three years at Keelung Polytechnic. After graduating, Evelyne studied fine art at the National Academy of Art in Taipei. This was followed by a year's study at Ecole des Beaux Art in Paris. During this period she developed a love of figure drawing that continues to be reflected in her artwork. Evelyne married Swiss artist Raouf Siegrist in 1985 and moved to Switzerland, where the couple lived for ten years, exhibiting in Switzerland and France. In 1993, Evelyne and her husband moved to Coromandel, New Zealand, where they developed their buffalo lodge guesthouse and a gallery to accommodate a permanent exhibition of their work. Her forte is her rendition of the human form, using a range of media including pastels, acrylics and oils, as well as intaglio and relief printmaking. Much of her work originates from drawing live models. Evelyne's work is collected both locally and internationally, in countries such as Germany, the United States, Britain, France, Hong Kong and the Netherlands.
